Proposed changes to FIT

DECC have just announced the proposed new Solar PV FIT rates: 4kW (new build & retrofit) … 21.0p >4-10kW … 16.8p >10-50kW … 15.2p >50-250kW … 12.9p >250kW-5MW … 8.5p The proposed new rates will come in effect from Dec 12th.  Full details can be found here

Solar PV jobs

The REA has just issued some analysis that shows that the UK solar sector now employs around 25,000 people. This is 22,000 more people than when the FIT started. The REA estimates that 80% of these numbers (ie 20,000) are in installation … when I started you could probably fit all the UK’s PV installers …
